Job Description

Responsibilities

We are an established multi-site hospital support services organisation in Sarawak. We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of hospital support services at Pusat Jantung Sarawak.

Reporting to the General Manager, Hospital Operations, the successful candidate will provide strong operational leadership, ensure effective service delivery, manage manpower and resources, strengthen operational governance, and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, quality and safety requirements. The Facility Manager will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with hospital stakeholders and ensuring the continuous and efficient delivery of essential support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead overall hospital support services and facility operations, translating high-level strategic plans into seamless, daily operational performance.
  • Inspire and manage a multidisciplinary operational team, fostering a culture of accountability, high service quality, and continuous professional growth.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive and planned maintenance programs to ensure continuous availability and uptime of the healthcare systems.
  • Manage life-cycle asset strategies and resource allocation to preserve infrastructure life-cycle and ensure uninterrupted clinical care.
  • Proactively track operational performance, identify emerging facility risks, and execute swift, effective corrective strategies
  • Build collaborative, high-trust partnerships with hospital clients, clinical department heads, and key stakeholders to deliver exceptional support service satisfaction.
  • Manage vendors and contractors to ensure quality, safety, service level and contractual compliance.
  • Manage facility budgets, drive cost optimisation and effective use of manpower and resources.
  • Safeguard full compliance across all statutory regulatory, environmental mandates, occupational health and safety standards (OSHA), and ISO certification and hospital accreditation requirements.
  • Lead hospital-wide emergency preparedness, crisis management, risk management and business continuity frameworks to ensure total facility resilience during unexpected events.
  • Drive green building initiatives, technological adoption, and energy efficiency programs that position the hospital as a healthcare sustainability benchmark.
  • Utilize data analytics and CMMS reporting to deliver actionable performance insights, continuous improvement initiatives, and management-level updates.
  • Enforce Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS / ISO 37001) standards across all procurement, tendering, service delivery workflows, employees and contractors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical), Facility Management, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Facility Manager credential e.g Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) or relevant Project Management certification (PMP) will be an advantage.
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or professional body is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare / facility management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing healthcare or facility operations.
  • Proven track records in managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors and service providers.
  • Good knowledge of healthcare and statutory requirements including the OSHA 1994 (Amendment 2022), Fire Services Act (Act 341), and or MSQH accreditation standards.
  • Solid command of building management systems, CMMS software, preventive/predictive maintenance frameworks, and ISO management systems.
  • Strong understanding Anti bribery system.

KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to inspire, upskill and lead multidisciplinary engineering and support services teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients, vendors, management, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Sharp business acumen with demonstrated ability in budget optimization, lifecycle cost analysis, vendor negotiation, and resource efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills for risk management, root-cause failure analysis and data-driven decision-making using CMMS performance metrics.
  • Strong composure and decisive leadership during emergency utility failures, business continuity events, and statutory inspections.
  • Passionate with operational excellence, technological adoption (smart building technologies), and driving environmental sustainability initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
