WE’RE HIRING | Platform Operations Engineer – Ceph Storage Specialist | Singapore

We are looking for a hands-on Platform Operations Engineer / Ceph Storage Specialist with strong experience operating and maintaining Ceph-based storage platforms in production environments.

Role: Platform Operations Engineer – Ceph Storage Specialist

Location: Punggol, Singapore

Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Start Date: ASAP, subject to security clearance

Contract: 1 Year

Eligibility: Singapore Citizens / Singapore PRs only

Monthly Rate:

• 3–6 years relevant experience: Up to SGD 7,500/month

• 7+ years relevant experience: Up to SGD 9,500/month

All-inclusive package, subject to experience and suitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Ceph and OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) environments

• Monitor cluster health, capacity, latency, throughput, placement groups and device status

• Perform OSD/node replacement, recovery, rebalancing, backfill and scrubbing

• Troubleshoot degraded PGs, slow operations, quorum issues and device failures

• Plan and execute Ceph/ODF upgrades, expansion, patching and configuration changes

• Support RBD, CephFS, Ceph CSI and persistent storage

• Troubleshoot Kubernetes/OpenShift storage issues including PV provisioning, attachment, mounting and expansion

• Perform storage performance analysis and identify bottlenecks

• Manage storage capacity planning, monitoring, dashboards, alerts and runbooks

• Coordinate server, disk, firmware and network maintenance

• Participate in production incident response and RCA

• Test recovery scenarios involving disk, node, service and network failures

️ Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Ceph

Experience with Ceph Storage / OpenShift Data Foundation

Linux storage troubleshooting

OSD management, cluster recovery and rebalancing

Storage monitoring, capacity planning and upgrades

Experience with HDD, SSD, NVMe, HBA and firmware

Knowledge of storage networking and performance troubleshooting

Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift storage

Automation using Ansible, Python, Shell or similar tools

Knowledge of backup, snapshots, replication and disaster recovery

Ideal Candidate:

A hands-on storage engineer who has operated production Ceph environments and can troubleshoot storage issues across Ceph, Linux, Kubernetes/OpenShift, networking and physical infrastructure.
