Position Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the growth of Solarvest's utility-scale solar projects through effective business development strategies.
• Identify, evaluate and secure new business opportunities in the utility sector, including partnerships and government projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utility companies, regulatory bodies and industry partners.
• Oversee the proposal development process for utility projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and technical specifications.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities and policy changes to shape business strategies and identify growth opportunities.
• Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance and legal, to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
• Present project proposals, business cases and updates to senior management and potential clients.
• Monitor project performance and provide strategic guidance in line with company objectives.
• Take part in industry conferences and networking events to promote Solarvest and its utility offerings.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. A Master's Degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in business development or a related field, specifically in the utility or renewable energy sector.
• Proven track record of closing high-value contracts and building strategic partnerships.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, market dynamics and trends in the utility sector.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Willing to travel for business as needed.
• Passion for renewable energy and commitment to sustainability.
