About Pacific Stone Partners

Pacific Stone Partners is a privately owned firm that advises, invests and trades as principal. Our outlook is global, with a focus on Asia-Pacific. Our work ranges from financing, through special situations and real assets, to the supply and distribution of goods. We work with business owners, investors, lenders and institutions. At times, we invest our own capital, independently or alongside clients and partners.

About the role

Our Capital Solutions practice advises on and arranges financing for companies, owners, lenders and investors. The work covers debt and equity capital, from a business as a whole to a single asset, and includes corporate and project financing, asset-based financing, and lease financing and sale and leaseback. Financing can support acquisitions, expansion, project development, working capital and the refinancing of existing obligations. The practice works with businesses and their owners, banks and other lenders, lessors and asset managers, and private and institutional investors.

As an Associate you will work on the execution of financing assignments from the first discussion of the requirement through to financial close, in direct contact with clients, lenders and investors from the start. You will report to the Managing Partner. The role is based in our Singapore office.

What you will do

  • Help define the funding requirement and identify prospective capital providers.
  • Coordinate the information capital providers need to assess an opportunity.
  • Manage the data room and the question-and-answer process for capital providers.
  • Compare proposals and help structure the transaction.
  • Support the commercial negotiations and manage the process through to financial close.
  • Prepare financial analysis, financing memoranda and presentations.
  • Work with lawyers, lenders, lessors and asset managers on documentation and completion.

What we look for

  • Fluency in English and Japanese, written and spoken, is essential.
  • Three to six years in banking, advisory, credit or a similar field.
  • A degree in finance, economics, law, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Sound financial analysis skills and a working understanding of debt and equity structures.
  • The ability to deal with clients and other advisers independently.
  • The ability to manage several live transactions and deadlines at once.
  • A keen interest in corporate, project, asset-based and lease financing.
