Requirements
Plan and conduct safe, engaging activities for children and teenagers while creating a memorable and enjoyable cruise experience.
Work aboard a China cruise line offering Asia-focused voyages from major homeports in China. Build valuable international childcare and youth-programme experience while working in a culturally dynamic environment and travelling to destinations across East and Southeast Asia.
Important: Cruise ship grading differs from land-based hotel grading. Depending on relevant experience and the client’s assessment, candidates may be considered for a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role.
Applications are open to Malaysians and Singaporeans only.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a childcare-related field.
College certificate in Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Childcare or Education.
At least one year of experience in a similar position with another cruise company, recreation or hospitality organisation, or a related environment involving large groups of children and teenagers.
At least six months of experience working with children or teenagers through babysitting, kindergarten, nursery or a similar setting.
Childcare or nursery certification is an advantage but not compulsory.
Strong interaction and communication skills with children and teenagers.
Performance skills such as dancing, singing or musical activities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Conversational English and good command of Mandarin.
Salary
Monthly Contract Salary: USD 1,259.00
Social Benefit: USD 70.00
Admin Advance: USD 20.00
Monthly Hotel Performance Bonus: USD 165.00
Monthly Total: USD 1,514.00
Contract Duration: 8 months
Responsibilities
Supervise children and teenagers of different ages during games, dancing and arts-and-crafts activities.
Create, organise and conduct activities for children and teenagers.
Follow all child-safeguarding policies and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
Take immediate action and report concerns involving a child or inappropriate adult behaviour.
Explain the youth programme and evacuation procedures during embarkation.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and accidents.
Communicate courteously with parents and guardians and manage their expectations.
Arrive before each programme for setup and remain afterward for cleanup and child collection.
Adapt activities when necessary to maintain participation and engagement.
Follow all sanitation, security and safety procedures within the children’s and teenagers’ facilities.
Respond effectively to emergencies involving children or teenagers.
Use and maintain activity equipment and materials correctly.
Prepare programme materials and promote activities in advance.
Encourage children, teenagers and their parents or guardians to participate.
Perform other duties assigned by the line manager.
