Role Overview

Lead the Space, Range & Display (SRD) projects across macro and micro space planning to improve customer shopping journeys, optimize space and support commercial objectives. Establish scalable planning strategies, standards, systems, and governance for overseas markets, ensuring that store layouts and product displays are commercially effective, operationally practical, and aligned with the company’s retail proposition.

Key Responsibilities

SRD Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and lead an integrated SRD strategy covering macro space, micro space, category layout, and planogram standards, aligned with commercial priorities and business growth plans.
• Translate business objectives, customer insights, sales trends, and store requirements into actionable space and display strategies.
• Set planning principles, governance, SOPs, templates, performance measures, and quality standards to drive consistency and continuous improvement across markets.
• Guide, coach, and develop the space planning team; clarify priorities, build technical capability, and promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Establish planogram principles for product placement, facings, shelf capacity, product sequence, display standards, and replenishment practicality.
• Ensure planograms support operational SOPs, effective shelf replenishment, product availability, and consistent execution at store level.
• Maintain and govern planogram libraries, product and category data, planning templates, and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and usability.
  
  

Macro & Micro Space Planning

• Lead store layout planning for new store openings, renovations, relocations, format changes, and category resets.
• Partner with New Store Opening, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations, Commercial, and other relevant teams to translate planning strategies into practical architectural and fixture layouts.
• Evaluate category and store performance, including sales and profit per square foot, sales per bay, space productivity, and customer behavior, to optimize space allocation.
  
  

Overseas SRD Projects & Market Alignment

• Lead and coordinate SRD projects across overseas countries, adapting planning strategies to local customer behavior, store formats, category needs, commercial priorities, and operational requirements.
• Work with country teams and cross-functional stakeholders to understand local market needs, agree project scope and deliverables, and drive implementation within agreed timelines.
• Provide guidance, training, and implementation support to overseas teams to strengthen planning capability and ensure consistent application of SRD principles.
• Monitor project progress, resolve planning issues, manage risks and dependencies, and communicate status, decisions, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
  
  

Data Analytics & Business Performance

• Analyze sales, profit, inventory, assortment, customer feedback, and space productivity data to develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Define and monitor appropriate SRD KPIs, such as sales and profit per square foot, sales per bay, space utilization, planogram compliance, and implementation effectiveness, where data is available.
• Conduct pre- and post-implementation evaluations to assess the impact of layout and planogram changes and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare clear business cases, proposals, reports, and presentations that explain the rationale, expected benefits, trade-offs, and outcomes of SRD initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree or Diploma in Retail Management, Business, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Substantial experience in both macro space planning and micro space planning, with experience leading projects and stakeholders.
• Experience managing multi-market or overseas retail projects is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in retail space optimization, category planning, planogram development, store layout projects, and performance evaluation.
• Leadership experience in guiding teams, managing priorities, and delivering cross-functional projects.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Familiar in planogram software & store design software such as Catman, JDA, AutoCAD or equivalent tools.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• Familiarity with space management systems, retail data, and reporting tools.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into practical space planning and merchandising recommendations.
