IntroductionOperations Data Sourcing, as the Data Subscription Category Owner, serves as the central governance and strategy lead for all data subscriptions, managing a growing portfolio of 150+ contracts across market data, compliance, portfolio management, and specialized tools. The team covers both category owner and Data Sourcing Admin baseload and projects across Temasek ecosystem.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness Partnership & Data Support
- Partner with Business Units and Technology teams to understand data requirements and support the delivery of market data solutions and initiatives, including AI-related projects.
- Liaise with stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and ensure timely delivery of data services.
- Support the onboarding and integration of market data into enterprise systems while ensuring compliance with licensing terms.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Support the management of relationships with market data vendors, including contract renewals, subscription changes, and service-related matters.
- Assist in contract negotiations, licensing reviews, and vendor assessments to ensure business requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, vendor interactions, renewals, and data usage agreements.
Data Sourcing & Commercial Analysis
- Conduct market research and evaluate data providers to identify solutions that meet business requirements.
- Perform cost and vendor comparisons to support purchasing decisions and budget optimization.
- Prepare business cases, recommendations, and supporting analyses for new data subscriptions and renewals.
Budget & Operational Management
- Support the administration of enterprise data subscriptions, including budget tracking, invoice validation, cost allocations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare regular reporting on subscription usage, renewals, savings, and key operational metrics.
- Assist with annual budget planning, reconciliation, and year-end variance analysis.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure vendor contracts, renewals, and data usage comply with procurement, legal, and risk management requirements.
- Monitor renewal schedules and support compliance with licensing obligations and internal governance standards.
- Maintain documentation and records to support audit and compliance requirements.
User Enablement & Strategic Initiatives
- Coordinate training, onboarding, and communication activities to promote effective usage of enterprise data platforms.
- Support AI and digital initiatives, including proof-of-concepts, vendor capability assessments, and new feature rollouts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption of data products and services across the firm.
Requirements- BS in Science/Quantitative/Engineering/Computing or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are also welcome to apply.
- Understanding of market data functions and services, and the ability to see how each work stream's process integrates, will be an advantage.
- Notably strong analytical and decision-making capabilities; process- and workflow-oriented with the ability to size up issues quickly and adopt progressive steps to resolve situations, knowing how/when to escalate.
- Possess a strategic focus with the ability to analyze and understand the data and investment business; able to formulate and implement robust processes.
- Results-oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of external providers (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, Refinitiv, MSCI) will be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Driven, self-starter, adaptable, and organized, with the ability to multi-task well in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well across different teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
