Senior Azure Data Engineer / Azure Data Platform Lead

Job Overview

We are urgently hiring an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer / Azure Data Platform Lead to lead and coordinate technical teams, manage stakeholders, and support the development and maintenance of cloud-based data solutions using Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Azure data services, SQL, Python, Power BI, and DevOps practices, along with proven leadership and stakeholder management skills. This role requires someone who can drive technical delivery, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work effectively in an Agile Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage stakeholders, communicate project progress, and align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Work with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks to build and manage data pipelines.
• Implement secure access management using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) and Azure Key Vault.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing and transformation.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
• Manage source code and collaborate with team members using GitHub.
• Support CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions, including pipeline triggers and concepts.
• Integrate systems and services using APIs.
• Coordinate project activities and track tasks, issues, and deliverables using Agile Scrum and Jira.
• Maintain data platform reliability, security, and code quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and coordinating technical teams and managing stakeholders.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly:
• Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory
• Azure Data Lake Storage
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Databricks
• Azure Key Vault
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience using GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Good understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience using Jira.
• Hands-on experience developing Power BI reports.
• Understanding of Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions, including pipeline triggers and CI/CD concepts.
• General understanding of APIs and system integration.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of Kusto Query Language (KQL), PowerShell, and Bash.
• Experience with Azure Repos.
• Familiarity with Azure Dashboards and Azure Log Analytics Workspace.
• Experience with Power BI REST API.
• Familiarity with Databricks CLI and Azure CLI (AZ CLI).
