The Strategic Communications Intern supports S3’s communications work through hands-on content production, with a strong focus on video and visual design.
This role is designed for a highly practical intern who enjoys creating, editing, and producing content that will be used in real campaigns, events, outreach, and organisational communications. The intern will support the team across content creation, captioning, branding materials, and on-ground activities, while working within clear guidance and established messaging.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content Creation & Visual Production (Primary Focus)
- Produce short-form videos for social media platforms (e.g. Reels, TikTok, Shorts) using CapCut or equivalent tools.
- Design visual assets for social media, posters, simple EDMs, slides, posters, and marketing materials using Canva.
- Support basic design work using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop where required.
- Edit photos for online and social usage using Adobe Lightroom
- Adapt content into multiple formats and sizes for different platforms.
- Ensure basic visual consistency in line with S3’s brand guidelines.
2. Content Writing Support
- Contribute to social media captions and post copy, learning how to translate programmes, stories, and moments into engaging, audience-appropriate content.
- Assist in shaping short written content such as:
- Event and launch highlights
- Programme and service spotlights
- Outreach and campaign descriptions
- Support light copy refinement to improve clarity, tone, and flow, with guidance from the team.
- Learn how messaging is adapted across different platforms while working within approved narratives and brand voice.
3. Digital & Team Support
- Support content preparation for posting (file naming, exporting, organising assets, scheduling post based on approved content).
- Assist in maintaining content trackers or calendars provided by the team.
- Support basic performance checks (e.g. engagement indicators), without ownership of analytics or strategy.
- Provide general administrative support related to communications work.
4. Events, Outreach & On-Ground Support
- Provide on-ground social media coverage (e.g. IG stories, capturing pictures & videos)
- On-ground event support and logistics, including setup, material coordination, and overall event operation
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
- Diploma or Undergraduate student in Communications, Design, Marketing, Media, Visual Arts, or related discipline.
- Strong interest in content creation, especially video and visual design.
- Comfortable using:
- Canva
- CapCut
- AI Videography Apps
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Lightroom
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and content formats.
- Willingness to support events and occasional on-ground activities.
INTERNSHIP DETAILS
- Commitment: Minimum 3 months
- Type: Full-time internship
- Location: Flexible to work at either Redhill, Boon Lay or Tanjong Pagar
