JOB DESCRIPTION

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in sciences/ Chemistry aligned with the IGCSE curriculum requirements;
• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom;
• Create and utilize a variety of resources, including practical experiments and demonstrations, to enhance student understanding and engagement;
• Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support improvement;
• Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE examinations, ensuring they understand assessment objectives and examination techniques;
• Maintain detailed records of student achievement, progress and attendance in accordance with school policies;
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, share best practices and maintain consistency across science departments;
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages scientific inquiry, curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives;
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements and areas for development;
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, professional development activities and other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline) or equivalent qualification
• A recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE, Teaching Certificate or equivalent) or teaching experience in a secondary school setting
• Demonstrated expertise and strong subject knowledge in IGCSE Sciences curriculum
• Proven experience teaching secondary students, ideally within an international school context
• Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to maintain discipline and create a supportive learning environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with parents
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational practices and scientific advancements
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous
• Experience in planning and conducting practical science experiments and laboratory sessions is desirable

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: RM3,900.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
