Responsibilities
AI deployment · HRMS and workflow automation · cybersecurity and network
Full-time | Petaling Jaya, with visits to client sites across the Klang Valley | Reports to the CTO | 0–5 years'
experience — fresh graduates with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply
About the role
Is Ikhlas is a 20-year-old facilities management group of five companies and about 2,000 staff, now building an energy business on top of it — chiller retrofits, ESCOs, energy performance contracts and smart-building systems for commercial and industrial clients. We run a lot of people, a lot of sites and a lot of paper, and we want AI to change how the whole group works, not sit in a pilot.
We are hiring an AI Implementation Engineer to own that change end to end. You will deploy AI tools into real operations, rebuild our HR and workforce systems so they fit a 2,000-person field organisation, automate the workflows that still run on WhatsApp and spreadsheets, and put proper cybersecurity and network foundations under all of it. You report directly to the CTO and work across every company in the group.
This is a hands-on role. You will scope, build, deploy, train the users and fix what breaks — not write requirements for someone else to do it. The title says Engineer because we want someone who does the work.
What you will do
AI deployment
• Find the places in the group where AI pays back fastest — quotation drafting, contract review, lead sourcing, site reporting, customer service — and ship working tools into them, not slide decks about them.
• Build and maintain our internal AI agents and assistants on commercial LLM APIs and no-code or low-code platforms, including the agent network the BD team already uses for quotations and contract review.
• Own prompt design, data connections, access controls and evaluation for every AI tool in production, so outputs stay accurate and company data stays inside the company.
• Train staff — from BD managers to site supervisors — to use the tools, and measure adoption and hours saved.
HRMS and workforce systems
• Improve our HR management system so it works for a 2,000-person, multi-site, multi-entity field workforce: onboarding, attendance and site rostering, leave, payroll inputs, contract renewals and offboarding.
• Integrate HRMS with the systems around it — payroll, attendance devices, earned wage access, finance — so data is entered once and flows.
• Build the reports management actually asks for: headcount by site and entity, attrition, overtime, cost per site.
Workflow automation
• Map the processes that still run on WhatsApp, email and spreadsheets — purchase requests, site checklists, incident reports, invoicing hand-offs, tender submissions — and move them onto proper workflows with approvals and audit trails.
• Build the automations yourself with tools such as Power Automate, n8n, Zapier or Make, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 scripting, and light Python where needed.
• Standardise document templates, shared drives and naming so the group's information is findable and can feed the AI tools above.
Cybersecurity and network
• Set up and enforce the basics across the group: identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, device and endpoint protection, email security, backups and recovery.
• Write and roll out an acceptable-use and data-handling policy, and run phishing awareness for staff.
• Own office and site networking — firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access to building management systems at client sites — and resolve network issues before they stop a site from working.
• Prepare the group for client security questionnaires and the data-protection requirements of enterprise and government tenders, including PDPA compliance.
What we are looking for
• A degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, software engineering, data science or a related field — or equivalent proof that you can build.
• Zero to five years of experience. Fresh graduates are welcome if you can show us things you have built and deployed: a portfolio, GitHub, a bot, an automation, a system you set up for a club, a family business or a previous employer.
• AI-native: you already use LLM tools daily to get work done, and you can build with them — API calls, prompt and context design, retrieval over company documents, agents that take actions — and judge when they are wrong.
• Working IT fundamentals: user and identity administration (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace), networking basics (IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, Wi-Fi), endpoint and backup management.
• Scripting ability in Python or JavaScript, and comfort with APIs, webhooks and spreadsheets as data sources.
• Experience with at least one HRMS, ERP or workflow platform, as an administrator or implementer, or the ability to learn one fast.
• A bias for shipping: you prefer a working 80% solution this week over a perfect one next quarter, and you are happy to train a site supervisor on it yourself.
• Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia; comfortable explaining technology to non-technical staff.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Klang Valley; own transport preferred, as some work is at client sites.
What will set you apart
• Shipped AI agents or automations used by real people, with a measurable result — hours saved, errors cut, revenue touched.
• Hands-on with Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID / Intune, Google Workspace admin, or a firewall vendor such as Fortinet, Sophos or Ubiquiti.
• A security certification or coursework — CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate, Microsoft SC-900, ISC2 CC — or practical experience running a security audit or responding to an incident.
• Experience with HR, payroll or attendance systems used in Malaysia, or with earned wage access platforms.
• Familiarity with building management, BMS or IoT systems — chillers, sensors, smart washroom or energy monitoring — and how they sit on a network.
• Experience in a facilities management, cleaning, construction, security or other large field-workforce business.
• Familiarity with PDPA 2010 and with the data and security requirements in government and enterprise tenders.
Your first 90 days
Why this role
• Unusual scope for your level: AI, systems, security and network across five companies and 2,000 people, reporting directly to the CTO.
• Real problems with real users — your work shows up in how sites run and how fast we win tenders, not in a backlog.
• The group is building toward an IPO in 2027. The systems you put in now are the ones that will be audited then.
• Budget for tools, training and certifications, and leadership that already uses AI daily and will not need convincing.
• Competitive remuneration for your experience level, statutory benefits, medical coverage and a laptop of your choice.
