About the Opportunity
An established industrial manufacturer seeks a hands-on engineer to strengthen production performance and equipment reliability. The opportunity suits someone who can introduce disciplined manufacturing practices, deliver practical improvements and develop towards broader operational responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing
Drive manufacturing process improvements on the production floor, applying structured problem solving to improve productivity, quality and cost while supporting machinery reliability and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate production workflows, cycle times, machine utilisation and bottlenecks; implement improvements that increase output, yield and operating efficiency.
- Optimise machining, milling and grinding processes, tooling and operating parameters to improve consistency, reduce rejection and minimise material losses.
- Investigate process defects and equipment failures using root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
- Work with production and maintenance teams on machinery troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment improvements to reduce downtime.
- Introduce practical Lean, 5S and continuous improvement methods; translate best practices into workable shop-floor routines and standard procedures.
- Track productivity, quality and downtime indicators; use production data to prioritise improvements and demonstrate measurable results.
- Coordinate with quality teams, suppliers and service providers on technical issues, equipment repairs and process improvements.
- Coach operators and technicians on operating methods, equipment care and problem solving; build capability for broader production responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 7 or more years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience, with substantial hands-on production-floor exposure.
- Practical knowledge of machining, milling or grinding, with experience diagnosing machinery and process problems.
- Demonstrated improvements in productivity, yield, quality, cost or downtime using structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Exposure to disciplined manufacturing systems, Lean practices, preventive maintenance and equipment management; MNC manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Proactive, adaptable and open to introducing external best practices, with clear communication, teamwork and operator-coaching skills.
