We are a fast-growing startup looking for an experienced Cloud Architect who also loves running operations. You will build and own the infrastructure and operations behind our product across three delivery models: multi-tenant SaaS, customer on-prem installations, and dedicated hosted environments.

You will set up the processes and tools from the ground up, keep them running, and improve them as we grow. You will also own our path to and maintenance of SOC 2 compliance. This is a hands-on role with high ownership and a direct line to the founders.

• Design, build and run cloud infrastructure for our SaaS platform, with a focus on reliability, security and cost
• Define and support deployment models for on-prem and dedicated hosted customer environments (packaging, installation, upgrades, support)
• Own day-to-day operations: monitoring, alerting, incident response, on-call, backups and disaster recovery
• Introduce and improve operational processes and tooling (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, access management, change management)
• Lead SOC 2 readiness and audits: implement controls, collect evidence, write policies, and work with auditors
• Set security baselines across all environments and manage vulnerabilities, patching and secrets
• Work closely with engineering on architecture decisions and help the team ship safely and quickly
• Document systems and runbooks, and grow the ops function as the company scales

• 7+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, including architecture-level responsibility
• Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Strong with Kubernetes, containers and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
• Experience shipping software into customer-managed environments (on-prem or private cloud)
• Proven track record of running production systems: monitoring, incident management, backup and recovery
• Hands-on experience with SOC 2 (or ISO 27001) implementation and audits
• Experience building processes and tooling from scratch, ideally in a startup or scale-up
• Pragmatic, self-directed, and comfortable owning a broad area alone
• Fluent English; clear written communication

• Experience with compliance automation tools (e.g. Vanta, Drata, Secureframe)
• Multi-cloud or air-gapped deployment experience
• Background in security engineering
• Experience hiring and leading a small ops team
