Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and analytical IT Analyst to join our retail headquarters IT team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between retail operations, distribution center logistics, and advanced data analytics. You will manage, optimize, and query our relational databases (MySQL) while scaling our enterprise data capabilities using Google Cloud BigQuery.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in the retail sector—familiar with point-of-sale (POS), inventory management, supply chain, and ERP data flows—and possesses advanced SQL coding skills to transform raw transactional data into actionable business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Management & MySQL Coding

• Design, write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views in MySQL to support enterprise retail systems, ERPs, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot query bottlenecks, and ensure data integrity across multi-location retail and distribution center databases.
• Automate routine data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks to streamline daily inventory reconciliation and financial closing workflows.

2. BigQuery & Data Analytics Integration

• Architect, manage, and scale data pipelines and data warehouse environments using Google BigQuery.
• Write highly optimized standard SQL queries for BigQuery to analyze large-scale retail datasets, customer behavior trends, and supply chain metrics.
• Integrate multi-source retail data (POS logs, e-commerce transactions, ERP records) into BigQuery for centralized reporting and dashboarding.

3. Retail Systems Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with retail operations, finance, and logistics teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions and automated reports.
• Support system integrations, ensuring seamless Unit of Measure (UOM) synchronization and data consistency between retail headquarters and distribution hubs.
• Document system architectures, query logic, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for team knowledge sharing.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data

Analytics, or a related field.

2. Experience: Approximately 3-5 years of hands-on IT working experience, preferably

within a retail, wholesale, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.

3. Technical Skills:

• Advanced SQL Proficiency: Deep expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries, joins, subqueries, and performance tuning in MySQL.
• Cloud Data Warehousing: Proven experience utilizing Google Cloud BigQuery for querying large datasets and managing cloud-based analytics.
• Retail Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with retail management systems, ERPs,
• point-of-sale data structures, inventory control, and supply chain/warehouse data flows.
• Data Tooling: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI) and basic scripting (Python or Bash) is a strong advantage.

4. Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical peers and non-technical retail stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail headquarters environment.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
