Work schedule: 5 days workweek, 44 hours per week
Role overview:
We are looking for a Commis Chef to supports daily pastry production with a focus on entremets, cakes, and takeaway items. Works under supervision to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in a production environment.
Key responsibilities
Assist in preparation and assembly of entremets, cakes, and pastries
Execute basic components (sponges, creams, fillings, glazes, garnishes)
Execute preparation of day time dine in pastry items
Support daily mise en place and production prep
Maintain consistency in portioning, finishing, and presentation
Handle basic equipment and follow recipes accurately
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of workstation
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
General cleaning duties of work station, supplies and equipment, etc.
Assist with stock rotation and ingredient preparation
Requirements
Basic pastry training or kitchen experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Able to follow instructions and recipes precisely
Good work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude
Ability to work on weekends and public holidays
