Responsibilities

Corporate Communications Intern

Location: Singapore

Internship period: January–June 2027 (Full-time)

Function: Corporate Affairs & Market Access

About the internship

Join AstraZeneca, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, and gain hands-on experience in strategic corporate communications within the healthcare industry.

As a Corporate Communications Intern, you will support the Corporate Affairs team in developing and delivering communications that engage employees, strengthen corporate reputation, and increase awareness of important diseases and healthcare priorities.

Reporting to the Patient Advocate and Corporate Affairs Manager, you will help develop and implement communications campaigns across employee engagement, thought leadership, and disease and therapy awareness. You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal senior leaders, healthcare professionals, patient and healthcare organisations, patient advocacy groups, government agencies, and external vendors.

This internship will provide opportunities to contribute to conversations that support healthcare transformation in Singapore while building practical experience in communications and stakeholder engagement.

What you may work on

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting communications campaigns across public relations, digital, and social media channels.
  • Developing clear and engaging written, visual, and presentation content for different audiences.
  • Coordinating communications materials and supporting content planning.
  • Supporting internal communications and employee engagement activities.
  • Assisting with events, stakeholder meetings, and engagement activities.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to support campaign delivery.
  • Providing occasional support to the Market Access team on selected projects, such as reviewing relevant guidance and summarising key updates and their potential implications for the business.

The Market Access component will complement your primary focus on corporate communications and provide broader exposure to Singapore’s healthcare environment.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the internship, you will have developed a foundational understanding of strategic communications and corporate reputation management, particularly within the biopharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. You will also gain exposure to different therapeutic areas and the stakeholder environment in Singapore.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting communications campaigns focused on employee engagement, thought leadership, disease awareness, and therapy awareness.
  • Build practical skills in public relations, digital communications, social media, content development, and event support.
  • Develop experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, healthcare and patient organisations, patient advocacy groups, government agencies, and external vendors.
  • Strengthen your ability to translate business and healthcare priorities into clear, engaging, and audience-focused communications.
  • Gain introductory exposure to Market Access activities by reviewing relevant guidance and summarising key updates and potential business implications.
  • Enhance your collaboration, project management, written communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to learn. You may be studying communications, public relations, marketing, healthcare, business, public policy, or a related discipline.

You should have an interest in healthcare and communications, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Creativity, attention to detail, initiative, and a willingness to work with diverse stakeholders will be valuable in this role.

If you are passionate about communications, patient advocacy, and contributing to meaningful healthcare initiatives, we encourage you to apply.
