Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced
Principal Engineer, Technology Development
to join an established organisation within the semiconductor industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects, improve manufacturing performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead engineering initiatives involving new product introduction, process qualification and implementation within a manufacturing environment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate technical challenges, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Plan and conduct structured engineering experiments to evaluate process performance and establish optimal operating parameters.
Assess manufacturing performance, identify potential risks and implement improvement measures to enhance process stability and product quality.
Analyse production and test data to identify performance gaps, improve manufacturing yield and drive continuous improvement.
Investigate product and manufacturing-related issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to minimise operational disruptions.
Review engineering documentation and technical specifications to ensure manufacturing processes meet quality and production requirements.
Prepare technical reports documenting engineering trials, findings, corrective actions and improvement outcomes.
Participate in productivity, quality enhancement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related engineering discipline. A PhD would be an advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor or electronics manufacturing industry.
Experience in semiconductor engineering, product engineering, process engineering or device-related engineering activities.
Good understanding of semiconductor fundamentals, fabrication processes and manufacturing principles.
Experience in engineering experimentation, data analysis, root-cause investigation and continuous improvement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and international teams.
