About Us

SG TVET Group Berhad has been developing Malaysia’s skilled workforce since 1999. We run 5-star JPK-rated campuses across Peninsular and East Malaysia, offering Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) and Diploma programmes in computer systems, AI and cybersecurity, mechatronics, Autotronics (EV/hybrid), drone technology and culinary arts. Our training is practical and industry-driven, delivered by instructors who have done the job themselves.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on IT Instructor who can teach by doing. Most of your time will be spent in the lab, guiding students through real-world tasks so they graduate ready to work in IT support, networking and systems roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical, lab-based instruction in computer hardware, operating systems, networking and IT support, following the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS).
  • Demonstrate tasks step by step and supervise students as they assemble, configure, troubleshoot and repair systems themselves.
  • Set up, maintain and upgrade the IT lab, including PCs, servers, network equipment and software.
  • Prepare lesson plans, practical worksheets, assessments and training records in line with JPK requirements.
  • Assess students’ practical competency and provide clear feedback to help them improve.
  • Monitor student attendance and progress, and support students who are falling behind.
  • Keep course content up to date with current industry tools and practices.
  • Support JPK audits, accreditation and quality assurance activities.

  • Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or a related field, or SKM Level 3 or above in a relevant IT field.
    • At least [2–3] years of hands-on industry experience in IT support, networking or system administration. Teaching or instructing experience is an advantage.
    • Strong practical skills in:
    • PC hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair
    • Windows and Linux installation, configuration and administration
    • Networking (LAN/WLAN setup, cabling, IP addressing, routers and switches)
    • Server setup, user management and basic security
    • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, Cisco CCNA or Microsoft are an advantage.
    • Vocational Training Officer (VTO) or Kemahiran Pengajar Vokasional (KPV) certification is an advantage. Candidates without it may be supported to obtain it.
    • Good communication skills with patience and the ability to explain technical concepts simply.
