Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Floor Tiler

to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing floor surfaces and laying tiles across various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate possesses excellent craftsmanship, precise measurement skills, and a strong understanding of different tiling materials and techniques.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Clean, level, and prepare floor surfaces by removing old tiles, debris, and adhesives. Apply waterproofing membranes and underlayment where necessary.
• Layout & Measurement: Measure floor areas accurately and plan layouts to minimize waste and ensure a visually appealing, symmetrical finish.
• Material Cutting: Cut and shape tiles precisely using hand tools, tile cutters, and power saws to fit around edges, corners, and obstacles.
• Installation: Mix and apply mortar, cement, or adhesive glue using trowels. Lay and position tiles accurately, ensuring they are level and properly aligned.
• Grouting & Finishing: Apply grout between tiles, clean off excess material, and apply sealants to protect the installation from moisture and wear.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished surfaces to ensure compliance with quality standards, alignment specifications, and client expectations.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a Floor Tiler, Tile Setter, or in a similar construction trade role.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in using tiling tools, including manual cutters, wet saws, spacers, trowels, and leveling systems.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (such as tile boxes and cement bags) and work in physically demanding positions (kneeling, bending, and standing) for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Sharp eye for alignment, leveling, symmetry, and neat finishing.
• Mathematics: Basic math skills for accurate measuring, area calculations, and material estimation.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship or trade school certification in tiling or masonry is highly advantageous.
