About the Role

Our big tech client is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Full Stack) to design, develop and maintain scalable applications and internal platforms.

You will work closely with product, engineering and operations teams to build high-quality software solutions, improve existing systems and develop automation tools that support business operations.

The ideal candidate has strong full-stack development experience, particularly with JavaScript, React and PHP/Hack or Python, and is comfortable owning complex engineering projects from design through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications, including frontend interfaces, backend services and APIs.
• Build modern frontend applications using React, Vue, Angular or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop backend systems using PHP/Hack, Python, JavaScript or other programming languages.
• Work closely with product managers, designers and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Take ownership of the software development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Develop and enhance automation platforms to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews and technical troubleshooting.
• Ensure applications are reliable, maintainable and delivered within project timelines.

Requirements

• 2 - 4 years of strong professional software engineering experience, with hands-on involvement in full-stack application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React, or similar modern frontend frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
• Backend development experience using PHP/Hack, Python or JavaScript.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, databases, system integrations and software architecture.
• Experience delivering complex software projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Mercurial.
• Experience writing unit tests and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to independently manage technical deliverables and meet project deadlines.

Good to Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience developing large-scale enterprise or consumer-facing applications.
• Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimising complex queries.
• Experience working with multiple programming languages in production environments.
• Exposure to operational support platforms or workflow automation.
• Experience developing advertising technology, privacy-related products or internal business platforms.

This is a 12 months rolling full-time contract role.
