The Company

A growing digital infrastructure platform is expanding its data centre footprint across Asia Pacific. With a portfolio spanning new developments and existing facility fit-outs, the organisation is strengthening its regional project delivery capabilities to support continued growth and evolving customer requirements.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a multi-country project portfolio, establish consistent delivery standards and influence the development of critical digital infrastructure across the region.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead regional data centre project delivery across multiple markets, overseeing projects from early planning and design through construction, commissioning and operational handover.

Regional Project Leadership

  • Lead multiple concurrent data centre development and fit-out projects across Asia Pacific, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Establish project execution strategies covering programme, resources, procurement, budgets and key delivery milestones.
  • Set portfolio priorities, allocate resources and provide direction to local project managers across different markets.
  • Identify cross-project dependencies and resolve challenges that may affect regional delivery commitments.

Project Governance and Performance

  • Develop and implement regional project management frameworks, standard operating procedures, reporting templates and approval processes.
  • Establish effective controls for cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk, change management and project documentation.
  • Provide senior management with clear portfolio updates, financial forecasts, delivery risks and recommendations requiring decisions.
  • Lead regular project reviews, track corrective actions and implement mitigation plans for delays, cost overruns and other delivery risks.

Design and Construction Management

  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, designers and specialist consultants to ensure designs meet capacity, resilience, maintainability and operational requirements.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary design coordination across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality and contractor performance through regular project reviews and site visits.
  • Resolve construction constraints, technical interfaces and programme delays while ensuring compliance with approved designs and safety requirements.
  • Maintain robust quality assurance processes, construction records and defect rectification procedures.

Procurement and Commercial Management

  • Lead procurement planning with internal stakeholders, including tender strategies, scopes of work, bid evaluations and contractor appointments.
  • Manage the performance of consultants, contractors, suppliers and other delivery partners against contractual obligations.
  • Review construction programmes, progress claims, variations and contractual matters, ensuring appropriate commercial scrutiny.
  • Oversee project budgets, cash flow forecasts and expenditure across the regional portfolio.
  • Assess the financial and programme implications of proposed changes and maintain effective cost controls.

Commissioning and Operational Handover

  • Oversee testing and commissioning strategies, including integrated systems testing and readiness assessments.
  • Partner with operations teams to establish handover requirements and ensure operational readiness throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure outstanding defects are addressed and that as-built drawings, operating manuals, warranties and other completion documentation are properly handed over.
  • Capture lessons learnt and continuously improve regional project delivery processes and standards.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and develop a regional project management function aligned with the organisation's growth plans.
  • Establish clear accountabilities for local project managers, consultants and delivery partners.
  • Engage senior management, cross-functional teams, customers and external stakeholders to facilitate timely decisions.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability and consistent project execution across multiple countries.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • At least 12 years of experience in construction or infrastructure project delivery, including substantial exposure to complex, large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience delivering data centres or other mission-critical facilities from design and construction through commissioning and operational handover.
  • Track record managing multiple concurrent projects and leading teams, consultants and contractors across different countries.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, procurement, contract administration, cost control, risk management and change management.
  • Experience establishing project governance frameworks, monitoring portfolio performance and implementing recovery plans for delivery challenges.
  • Commercial acumen in managing budgets, cash flow forecasts, contractor claims and variations.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, construction quality and testing and commissioning requirements.
  • Working knowledge of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure and the technical interfaces involved in data centre construction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior management and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Strong written and spoken English. Professional qualifications such as PMP, Chartered Engineer or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Asia Pacific.
