Responsibilities
Job Description:
1. Regulatory Monitoring & Interpretation
Stay updated with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines from MAS. Interpret how changes affect the business and ensure timely communication to relevant departments.
2. Policy & Procedure Development
Draft, update, and implement internal compliance policies and procedures. Ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal risk appetite.
3. Compliance Monitoring & Audits
Perform internal reviews and audits to check adherence to policies. Identify control weaknesses and work with departments to strengthen them.
4. Know Your Customer (KYC) & Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
Oversee customer due diligence processes. Monitor suspicious transactions and ensure timely reporting to the relevant authorities.
Requirements:
1. Regulatory Knowledge
Strong understanding of local and international financial regulations (e.g., MAS) Familiarity with rules governing financial products (insurance, securities, investments, etc.)
2. AML/KYC
Knowledge of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing frameworks Experience in transaction monitoring systems and risk-based customer due diligence.
3.Policy Development & Implementation
Proficiency in drafting compliance manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Knowledge of governance frameworks
4. Audit & Monitoring Skills
Conduct internal compliance reviews and audits. Ability to use tools for documentation and tracking of findings/remediations. Be able to use of compliance software (e.g, World-Check and LexisNexis) Proficient with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, or even SQL for some roles)
5. Reporting & Documentation
Strong skills in writing reports and preparing regulatory submissions
6. Analytical Thinking and Communication Skills
Ability to analyze complex regulations and translate them into practical policies. Strong verbal and written communication for dealing with staff, management, and regulators.
