GIC is one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. With over 2,000 employees across 11 locations around the world, we invest in more than 40 countries globally across asset classes and businesses. Working at GIC gives you exposure to an extraordinary network of the world’s industry leaders. As a leading global long-term investor, we Work at the Point of Impact for Singapore’s financial future, and the communities we invest in worldwide.

Technology Group
We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new, and emerging technologies.

Investment Technology
The Investment Technology group builds and enhances technology that supports the firm’s end-to-end investment lifecycle. It brings together capabilities across analytics, deal workflow, trading, execution, and operations to enable consistent, efficient, and data-driven investment processes. Through modern, scalable, and secure platforms, the group empowers investment teams with integrated tools that drive insight, automation, and operational excellence across all asset classes.

About Deal Process & Management
Deal Process & Management is a digital platform that streamlines and standardises the end-to-end deal lifecycle across GIC’s Private Markets investments, from origination and pipeline management through screening, due diligence, investment approvals, execution, and closing. It integrates workflow, documents, data, and approvals so that deal teams can move with speed, consistency, and control.

What impact can you make in this role?
As the production support lead for Deal Process & Management, you will own the reliability, security, and operational excellence of a platform that Private Markets deal teams depend on for time-critical investment decisions. You will set the operational standards, and partner with business and technology leaders to support GIC’s vision of being a tech-driven, global, long-term investment firm.

What will you do as a Lead, Production Support?

Leadership & team management

  • Platform ownership: Lead L2/L3 production support and SRE for the Deal Process & Management platform, covering deal origination and pipeline, workflow and approvals, document management, deal data, and integrations with upstream and downstream investment and finance systems.
  • Operating model & coverage: Design and run the support operating model, including on-call rosters, escalation paths, follow-the-sun handovers, and service level objectives (SLOs), ensuring dependable coverage for business-critical services.
  • Capability building: Identify skill gaps, drive cross-training and knowledge sharing, and contribute to hiring so the team scales with the platform.

Operational excellence & governance

  • Proactive environment governance: Define and oversee the environment monitoring strategy, leveraging enterprise observability tools and predictive dashboards to ensure the high availability, capacity, and performance of production environments, with particular focus on deal-critical periods such as investment committee cycles and deal closings.
  • Monitoring setup: Design and set up end-to-end monitoring and alerting for the platform, covering application and API health, workflow and approval queues, integrations and interfaces, batch jobs, and user experience, with clear thresholds, runbook-linked alerts, and SLO dashboards.
  • Incident & problem leadership: Command high-severity incident response efforts; drive institutional problem management frameworks and root cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring systemic risks and minimise business disruption. Ensure incidents are documented and corrective actions are tracked to closure.
  • Release & change governance: Champion the rigorous governance of application changes, patch deployments, and infrastructure upgrades, enforcing zero-downtime methodologies and strict risk mitigation controls.
  • Security & risk posture management: Drive the enforcement of security hygiene, vulnerability remediation, and compliance standards within production environments to maintain an uncompromised, secure operational posture.
  • System resiliency: Own failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity readiness, including regular DR testing and resiliency reviews.

Stakeholder & vendor partnership

  • Stakeholder communication: Act as the central point of coordination during incidents, clearly communicating status, impact, and next steps to Private Markets deal teams, investment professionals, and business stakeholders, technology teams, and senior management across regions and time zones.
  • Business alignment: Work with business sponsors and stakeholders to iterate through requirements in phases, translating operational needs into prioritised improvements aligned with department objectives.
  • User support: Partner closely with Private Markets deal teams, investment professionals, and business stakeholders, responding to queries and resolving issues with urgency and a service-first mindset.
  • Vendor engagement: Manage relationships with solution providers and SaaS/vendor support teams, holding them to agreed SLAs and driving resolution of issues related to third-party products.

Continuous improvement

  • Automation & AI-driven improvement: Identify and deliver opportunities to apply automation, AI frameworks, and agentic AI tooling to reduce toil, accelerate diagnostics, and continuously improve the efficiency and reliability of application support.
  • Service reporting: Track and report operational KPIs (e.g., availability, MTTR, incident trends, SLA/SLO attainment) to management, using the insights to drive improvement.
  • Documentation: Ensure comprehensive and current runbooks, incident resolutions, known-error records, and system configuration documentation.

What makes you a successful candidate?

Experience & leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in production/application support or Site Reliability Engineering, ideally supporting business-facing, workflow-driven, or transaction-lifecycle applications.
  • Track record of leading high-severity incidents and establishing problem, change, and release management practices in a regulated or high-availability environment.
  • ITIL or SRE certification is a plus.

Mindset & attributes

  • A great problem solver with a positive, can-do attitude who takes ownership and stays calm and decisive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • A good team player who is keen to learn, works independently, and brings strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • A strong communicator who can iterate through requirements in phases, ensuring alignment with business sponsors, stakeholders, and department objectives.
  • Able to bridge technical teams and business users with clarity and confidence, and to manage competing priorities with sharp attention to detail.

Technical skills
  • Cloud & infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Applications & integration: Experience supporting web applications, microservices, REST APIs, workflow/BPM platforms, and enterprise integration (e.g., messaging, file-based and API interfaces).
  • Observability: Hands-on experience designing and implementing monitoring and observability (e.g., Datadog, Splunk), including alerting, dashboards, and SLOs.
  • Security & compliance: Working knowledge of vulnerability management, identity and access controls, and audit requirements for production environments.
  • Databases: Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Scripting & automation: Comfort with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) to build automation and tooling.
  • AI frameworks & tooling: Experience with modern AI frameworks and tools, including agentic AI, applied to operations, automation, and diagnostics (a strong differentiator).

Domain experience (one or more preferred)
  • Private Markets (private equity, real estate, infrastructure, or private credit) deal lifecycle and workflows.
  • Deal pipeline, CRM, document management, or investment approval platforms.
  • Investment management or financial services technology more broadly.
