About the Role

The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), known in Bahasa Malaysia as “Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia” (BSMM), is seeking a creative and proactive Communications Officer to support the implementation of its communications plans and activities.

The role focuses on hands-on content production, including photography, videography, video editing, graphic design and social media management. The successful candidate will help communicate our humanitarian work through engaging content while ensuring timely delivery and consistency with organisational branding and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute communications plans, campaigns and content calendars as directed by the Assistant Manager, Communications.
• Produce engaging digital content, including social media posters, infographics, reels, videos and other communications materials.
• Undertake photography and videography assignments for programmes, events and humanitarian operations.
• Edit photographs and videos for social media, publications and other communications purposes.
• Design banners, posters, presentations, publications and other promotional materials.
• Ensure all communications materials comply with organisational branding guidelines, humanitarian principles and quality standards.
• Manage multiple assignments, provide regular progress updates and complete deliverables within agreed deadlines.
• Support field deployments, official events and emergency communications activities when required.
• Perform other communications-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Multimedia, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Creative Media or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in communications or multimedia production.
• Practical skills in photography, videography, video editing, graphic design and social media management.
• Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, CapCut or equivalent software.
• Good writing and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willingness to travel and undertake field assignments, including occasional weekends and work outside normal working hours when operationally required, in accordance with organisational policies.
