Legal Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and responsible

Legal Associate

to join our growing legal practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm's lawyers and support a diverse range of legal matters while managing files and clients professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Handle and manage legal matters independently and/or under the supervision of senior lawyers.

Provide legal advice and assistance to clients on their respective matters.

Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, agreements, affidavits, submissions and other court documents.

Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and case summaries.

Attend court hearings, conferences, mediations and client meetings where required.

Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, courts, government agencies and other relevant parties.

Maintain proper file management and ensure deadlines, court directions and timelines are closely monitored.

Keep clients regularly updated on the progress of their matters.

Work closely with paralegals and other members of the legal team.

Assist with other legal and professional duties as required by the firm.

Requirements

Possess a recognised law degree and be

qualified to practise as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore

.

Hold a valid Practising Certificate, where applicable.

Newly qualified lawyers and candidates with relevant post-qualification experience are welcome to apply.

Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Able to manage files and deadlines responsibly with good attention to detail.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Professional, responsible and client-focused.

Good organisational and time-management skills.

Willingness to learn and handle a variety of legal matters.

Candidates with relevant experience in

civil litigation, criminal law, family law and/or other areas of general practice

will have an advantage.
