Full Time Compliance Officer — KYC - AML-CFT Jobs, in Vesta Trustee (formerly Vanguard Trustee) Federal Territory - Maukerja

Job purpose

Support Vanguard Trustee Berhad’s compliance programme by conducting customer due diligence, monitoring compliance risks, and maintaining records and controls for the company’s trustee and fiduciary services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct KYC checks when onboarding clients, settlors, trustees, beneficiaries, authorised representatives, and other relevant parties.
• Verify identity, address, occupation or business activity, source of funds, and—where appropriate—source of wealth.
• Review trust deeds and supporting documents; identify beneficial owners, controllers, and persons with authority over the trust.
• Screen relevant parties against sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP), and adverse-media sources.
• Assign and document customer risk ratings; apply enhanced due diligence and seek approval for higher-risk cases.
• Check that KYC files are complete, accurate, current, and approved before onboarding or proceeding with transactions.
• Conduct periodic reviews and refresh KYC information when there are material changes or risk alerts.
• Monitor transactions and activities for unusual patterns; escalate concerns promptly to the Compliance Manager or designated reporting officer.
• Maintain a clear audit trail of checks, approvals, escalations, and decisions, while protecting confidential customer information.
• Help prepare internal compliance reports, audit responses, and regulatory submissions as assigned.
• Support compliance training and advise operational and client-facing teams on KYC procedures.
• Keep up to date with applicable laws, regulatory guidance, and internal policies.
