About the role

Wanzu Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to develop new business and grow customer accounts in Malaysia’s data centre and mission-critical infrastructure market. The role involves promoting integrated solutions including UPS and battery systems, power distribution, precision cooling, containment, server racks, structured cabling, fire suppression and monitoring systems, alongside design-and-build, upgrading and maintenance services. Key responsibilities include identifying project opportunities, building relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, understanding customer requirements, coordinating with technical teams to prepare proposals and quotations, delivering presentations, negotiating contracts and managing opportunities from initial enquiry through contract award and project handover. The successful candidate will maintain a healthy sales pipeline, achieve agreed sales targets and build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and service contracts.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop new business and grow existing customer accounts in Malaysia’s data centre and mission-critical infrastructure market.
2. Build strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, system integrators and industry partners.
3. Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions, including UPS and batteries, power distribution, precision cooling, containment, server racks, structured cabling, fire suppression and monitoring systems.
4. Promote Wanzu’s design-and-build, infrastructure upgrading and maintenance services.
5. Work with technical teams to prepare proposals, quotations, tender submissions and technical presentations.
6. Negotiate commercial terms and manage sales opportunities from initial enquiry through contract award and project handover.
7. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecasts, develop account strategies and achieve agreed sales targets.
8. Identify cross-selling, upselling and service contract opportunities to generate repeat business and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business or a related field.
2. At least 2–3 years of B2B sales, technical sales, enterprise sales or business-development experience. Direct experience in the data centre infrastructure/M&E industry is strongly preferred.
3. Existing relationships with data centre owners, main contractors, IT contractors, M&E contractors, consultants or equipment vendors highly advantageous.
4. Strong presentation, negotiations and relationship-management skills.
5. Commercially driven and comfortable working towards sales targets.
6. Possess own transport and willing to travel.
