Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the implementation of Diagnostic Imaging Services (DIS) standards and procedures, maintaining high standards of nursing practice, and coordinating safe, effective patient care during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and monitoring of departmental standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.
Monitor clinical practices, facilitate the adoption of appropriate new technologies, and participate in regular clinical audits to maintain high standards of patient care.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred clinical outcomes.
Verify the completeness and validity of consent documentation before explaining the planned procedure or examination and its estimated duration to patients.
Review and update departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and clinical competency checklists based on current evidence and best practices.
Guide and supervise nursing staff in providing patient and family education, including appropriate pre- and post-procedure care.
Assist radiologists during interventional procedures in accordance with established protocols and the applicable scope of practice.
Support radiologists and anaesthetists in cases involving moderate sedation, in accordance with approved protocols and professional competencies.
Ensure accurate documentation and billing of procedures performed and consumables used.
Implement radiation protection measures to minimise unnecessary ionising radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public.
Respond promptly and appropriately to clinical emergencies, following established emergency management protocols.
Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and standards.
Participate in Nursing Quality Committee activities and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other relevant duties assigned by the Assistant Director or Radiologist, consistent with departmental requirements and professional scope of practice.
