Programmes range from play-based learning for toddlers to structured early intervention that improves communication, gross motor skills, and readiness for mainstream education. Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya. This role involves planning and delivering individualized education plans for children on the Autism Spectrum, using both play-based and structured teaching methods. The teacher will conduct daily lessons, monitor developmental progress, manage classroom activities, and adapt materials to meet each child’s needs. Responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with families about goals and outcomes. The teacher will also help prepare children for integration into mainstream education by supporting social, communication, and motor skill development.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience related to Disabilities and Special Education.
- Strong Teaching skills, including lesson planning and classroom management.
- Experience working with Middle School or early childhood learners is beneficial.
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
- Relevant degree or certification in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience with early intervention, autism support strategies, and individualized education plans.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and maintain accurate documentation.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory educational practices.
