Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support blood collection services on a short-term locum basis. The ideal candidate should be confident and proficient in venepuncture and able to work independently in a patient-facing environment.

Job Description

• Perform venepuncture and blood collection accurately and safely.

• Prepare patients for blood collection and explain the procedure clearly.

• Verify patient information and ensure correct specimen identification.

• Handle, label and process blood specimens according to established procedures.

• Maintain proper infection control and safety practices.

• Ensure phlebotomy equipment and work areas are clean and properly prepared.

• Monitor patients during and after blood collection and respond appropriately to any concerns.

• Minimise patient discomfort while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

• Handle specimens carefully to prevent errors or contamination.

• Maintain appropriate documentation and records.

• Work closely with laboratory and healthcare team members to ensure smooth workflow.

• Adhere to relevant clinical, safety and quality standards.

Who Should Apply

• Relevant healthcare qualification or phlebotomy training.

• Proven hands-on experience in venepuncture/blood collection.

• Careful and detail-oriented when handling patient information and specimens.
