Workplace: 1002 Jalan Bukit Merah, #01-10, Singapore 159456. Fixed warehouse-based role with scheduled customer-site collections; no flexible work arrangement.

About the role

We are a small used IT equipment repair, refurbishment, and wholesale business looking for a capable, honest, hands-on technician. You will handle equipment from customer collection through stock checking, data sanitisation, repairs, grading, and preparation for sale. You will also help with incoming and outgoing shipments, packing, unpacking, and daily warehouse upkeep.

The role is based at our facility, with travel to customer sites on scheduled collection days. On days without collections, you will work on stock processing, repairs, refurbishment, shipment preparation, and general warehouse duties. Our team shares practical duties.

You will work alongside our existing senior technician as a peer, with both technicians reporting to the business owner and guiding the junior technician. You will progressively take on greater technical responsibility and help coordinate workshop operations.

Customer-site collections

• Collect used laptops and other IT equipment at customer sites.

• Record serial numbers, asset tags, models, quantities, and accessories.

• Tally equipment against customer asset lists or lease return schedules.

• Document discrepancies, missing items, and visible damage.

• Communicate professionally with customers and maintain handover records.

• Label and pack equipment securely for transport.

Receiving, inventory, and preparation for sale

• Reconcile received equipment against collection and shipment records.

• Sort stock by model, specifications, condition, and repair requirements.

• Compile accurate inventory and sales lot lists using Excel, Google Sheets, or our inventory system.

• Track units and components removed or installed, including SSDs and RAM.

• Organise equipment into clearly labelled lots ready for sale.

Data sanitisation using Blancco

• Perform data sanitisation according to company procedures and customer requirements.

• Verify results and maintain erasure reports linked to equipment and drive serial numbers.

• Identify and escalate failed or incomplete erasures.

• Keep equipment awaiting sanitisation clearly identified and controlled.

• Reset and prepare units for resale after required sanitisation has been verified.

Repairs, refurbishment, and server hardware

• Diagnose laptop hardware faults and replace or interchange compatible components.

• Disassemble and reassemble equipment carefully.

• Identify donor units and document parts recovered or used.

• Test repaired equipment and record results.

• Clean and grade equipment according to company criteria.

• Inspect server hardware and replace compatible components.

• Apply working knowledge of server specifications and basic RAID concepts.

• Escalate faults beyond your expertise.

Wholesale shipments and general warehouse work

• Unpack incoming import shipments and check quantities, condition, and supporting records.

• Sort, label, and organise stock for processing or storage.

• Prepare outgoing customer orders and tally goods against packing lists.

• Pack laptops, servers, and components securely for local and export shipments.

• Share packing, unpacking, and stock movement duties with the junior technician.

• Keep the warehouse and workshop clean and organised.

• Flatten and dispose of unwanted cartons and packaging in designated areas.

• Keep walkways clear and follow safe equipment-handling practices.

• Carry out other reasonable duties related to workshop and warehouse operations.

Customer communication and leadership

• Explain equipment condition, testing results, and grading clearly.

• Help customers understand our grading criteria and the wear expected on used equipment.

• Refer pricing decisions and commercial disputes to the owner.

• Guide the junior technician in repairs, testing, documentation, and stock handling.

• Coordinate assigned work, flag delays, and progressively take ownership of workshop operations.

What we are looking for

• Proven practical ability in laptop diagnostics, repairs, and component replacement.

• Hands-on experience using Blancco and checking erasure reports.

• Working knowledge of server hardware.

• Ability to maintain accurate serial number, inventory, and component records.

• Clear communication and the potential to guide junior colleagues.

• Honesty, accountability, and responsible handling of customer equipment, data, and company stock.

• Willingness to travel for collections and perform general warehouse duties.

No minimum formal qualification is required. We welcome candidates who have developed their skills through practical work experience. Selection will be based on demonstrated ability, reliability, and quality of work.
