Job Descriptions

1. Scope of Work

Covers electrical, plumbing, mechanical and general building maintenance, inspections, service-provider/contractor support, technical records, defects, testing/commissioning, shifts and emergency standby.

2. Key Responsibilities

a) Carry out daily inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of building facilities and equipment.

b) Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to approved schedules and checklists.

c) Attend to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire-protection and general building-maintenance complaints.

d) Monitor pumps, water systems, lighting, electrical systems, fire-protection systems and other common-property equipment.

e) Conduct regular inspection of plant rooms, common areas and facilities and report unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

f) Attend residents' technical complaints and service requests professionally.

g) Assist contractors during servicing, repair, installation and rectification works and monitor work against required standards.

h) Record maintenance activities, meter readings, breakdowns, repairs and daily job assignments.

i) Assist with building defects, testing, commissioning and rectification works.

j) Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance stores and technical areas in good condition.

k) Follow all safety procedures and instructions from the technical management team.

l) Prepare or assist with monthly technical/performance reports and keep the immediate superior updated.

m) Work closely with other technicians as part of the site's shift and emergency-response team.

3. Key Skills & Attributes

a) Practical knowledge of property/building technical systems.

b) Basic electrical, plumbing and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

c) Good teamwork, discipline, attendance and communication.

d) Able to work independently and respond promptly to urgent situations.

4. Requirements / Qualifications

i. Certificate/SKM/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance or related technical discipline is preferred.

ii. Minimum 3 years of relevant high-rise building maintenance experience preferred.

iii. Recruitment should provide a balanced technical skill mix comprising one Handyman/Building Works Technician, one M&E-focused Technician and one Multi-skilled Technician.

iv. Candidates must be responsive, hands-on and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-density environment.

v. Must be able to work shift rotation, including weekends and public holidays where scheduled.

vi. Must be contactable during assigned standby/on-call periods and able to arrive at Cove Residence within approximately 30 minutes when activated for an emergency standby call. Candidates residing within a reasonable travelling distance from Cove Residence are preferred due to emergency-response requirements.

vii. Available to commence work in December 2026. Immediate hiring.

5. Working Relationship

• Reports to the Facility Manager / A4 Chargeman / Senior Building Technician.
• Works closely with other technicians, contractors, service providers and site operations personnel.

General Clause: The employee may be required to perform other duties reasonably related to the position and operational requirements as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,600.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
