About the Role

We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes social media — someone who knows what people are talking about, what’s trending, and more importantly, why people care.

This role goes beyond simply posting content.

You’ll need to understand online conversations, current affairs, trending news, public sentiment and different perspectives, then turn them into content that people actually want to stop, read, watch and discuss.

If you’re the type who opens TikTok, Threads, X or Facebook and already knows what happened today before your friends do — you might fit right in.

What You’ll Do

• Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and other social platforms

• Research trending topics, current affairs, social discussions and online conversations

• Turn complicated or serious topics into simple, interesting and easy-to-understand content

• Write captions, hooks, short-form scripts, headlines and social posts

• Produce and edit short-form videos, reels and visual content

• Identify trending angles before they become overused

• Understand how different audiences react to the same topic and adjust the content accordingly

• Follow breaking stories, public discussions and social sentiment to discover new content opportunities

• Brainstorm creative campaigns and content concepts with the team

• Use AI tools to speed up research, ideation, visual creation and content production

• Monitor content performance and continuously improve based on results

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t necessarily need years of experience.

But you should be someone who is:

• Naturally curious about what’s happening in Malaysia and around the world

• Comfortable following news, current affairs, social issues and major public conversations

• Able to look at one issue from different perspectives

• Sensitive to how wording, timing and context can change how people react to content

• Familiar with Malaysian social media culture and internet trends

• Good at spotting interesting angles that others may overlook

• Able to write in a natural, conversational style instead of sounding like a textbook

• Creative, fast-moving and willing to experiment

• Comfortable working with AI tools

• Able to work independently and meet deadlines

Bonus Points If You

• Regularly follow Malaysian news, business, society, economics or regional developments

• Understand how conversations develop across Threads, TikTok, Facebook and X

• Know how to turn a news story into a compelling social media angle

• Have experience with CapCut, Canva, Adobe tools or AI content tools

• Can communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and/or Chinese

• Have experience creating viral or high-engagement social content
