Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation and maintenance of game backend services and core modules, ensuring features are delivered on schedule.
  • Design and implement game business logic, service APIs, and internal tools to support systems such as player data, game progression, items, quests, and events.
  • Design database schemas, caching, and message processing workflows according to business requirements, with a focus on data consistency, API performance, and service reliability.
  • Collaborate with the client team to define API protocols, data formats, error handling, and version compatibility approaches, ensuring reliable integration of client features.
  • Analyze production logs, metrics, and incidents to resolve performance bottlenecks and service issues; contribute to capacity assessments, release readiness, and incident reviews.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and the development of engineering standards to improve code quality, testing, and automation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, game designers, QA, operations engineers, and other engineering teams to break down requirements, identify risks, and drive issues to resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of backend development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, C++, Python, or C#, with experience developing and maintaining production services.
  • Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, databases, computer networks, and operating systems, with familiarity with common server-side design approaches.
  • Familiarity with at least one relational database and SQL, and an understanding of common components such as caching, message queues, and inter-service communication.
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues, optimizing performance, and improving service stability, with the ability to use logs, metrics, and debugging tools to identify problems.
  • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills, with the ability to independently deliver modules, participate in code reviews, and share knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and maintaining game servers, online games, or internet services that handle high levels of concurrent traffic.
  • Familiarity with Linux, cloud platforms, containerized deployment, continuous integration, or service monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Practical experience with distributed services, cache and message queue optimization, automated testing, or AI-assisted development.
