The Mechanical Technician is responsible to carry out the maintenance works including repairing, trouble-shooting, inspection, preventive maintenance for mechanical equipment in LLMR. You are expected to comply with the local authority requirement, Merlin operations and the safety standard. You will work closely with the team and support the maintenance activities/initiatives to achieve the department objectives.
Scope and Responsibilities:
- Monitors jobs to insure quality and compliance with job standards.
- Oversees inspection and maintenance of rides and equipment.
- Performs duties of specific trades when necessary.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinates activities with other trades areas and outside contractors.
- Maintains records of jobs performed departmental charge codes and hours worked.
- Perform Daily Pre-Operational Safety & Maintenance Inspections on rides.
- Performs daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections and preventive maintenance towards mechanical systems.
- Inspections include testing, verification and/or calibration of applicable mechanical systems.
- Responds to ride calls during operating hours and makes repairs as required.
- Diagnoses system failures and provide immediate and corrective action.
- Researches defective mechanically-controlled items/parts and instructional information to complete the repair process when needed.
- Troubleshoots by referring to technical manuals and while utilizing a systematic approach.
- Maintains motor vehicles and heavy equipment in proper working order by: tuning motors; checking points, plugs, condensers, distributors, brakes, steering gear, and condition of engine block; installing new brake shoes; bleeding and adjusting brakes; balancing and aligning wheels; and performing preventive maintenance, such as changing oil, lubricating equipment, and maintaining fluid levels.
- Inputs in log books; completion of inspections, corrective action, and/or repairs made.
- Other duties as assigned.
Background and Experience:
Require a minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in mechanical or automobile maintenance. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in hydraulic, pneumatic, gear-box and pumps and motors including maintaining motor vehicle. Competent in performing welding works.
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related discipline.
