About the role

We are seeking a highly experience Account & Finance Officer role at PALMER SHIPPING SDN BHD in Miri, Sarawak. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial professional to take on a key position within the company's accounting and reporting team. The role requires ensuring statutory compliance and producing various financial reports. Responsibilities include monitoring cash flows, managing bank accounts, and assisting with audits.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

• Maintaining general ledger accounts and performing bank reconciliations

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements

• Supporting the month-end and year-end close process

• Providing ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required

• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies

• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within the shipping or logistics industry/oil & gas industry

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices and procedures

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

• Potential for provision or foreseen for company's financial need

• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills among director or stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
