Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Responsible for the smooth running of Homes of Hope (Children’s and Adults’ Home of Hope) located in Penang State and liaison with Home Coordinator National/ Home Coordinator Deputy National and the other Heads of Departments in NCSM in supporting programs organized by the Society or by external parties for the benefit of the current and former child and adult residents of the Homes.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Children’s and Adults’ Homes of Hope.

  • Ensure the facilities, equipment, and resources are maintained in good condition.

  • Coordinate patient admissions, registrations, records, and reporting.

  • Supervise care assistants and manage duty rosters.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and organizational policies.

  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients when required.

Manage procurement and petty cash in accordance with organizational procedures.

  • Patient & Caregiver Support

  • Facilitate referrals to NCSM’s psychosocial support services.

  • Conduct patient needs assessments and support coordination.

  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and volunteers.

  • Support programmes and activities that promote the wellbeing of cancer patients and their families.

Community Engagement & Fundraising

  • Build partnerships with hospitals, NGOs, educational institutions, community groups, and corporate organizations.

  • Promote Homes of Hope services through outreach activities and social media platforms.

  • Support donor engagement and sponsorship initiatives to enhance programme sustainability.

  • Increase awareness and utilization of Homes of Hope services within Penang.

Programme Support

  • Assist in community outreach, educational programmes, public health events, and awareness campaigns organized by NCSM.

  • Support the implementation of activities that align with NCSM’s Care, Support, and Education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Healthcare Management, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in healthcare, NGO, community services, or care facility management.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with ability to supervise team members.

  • Experience in operations management, administration, and basic financial handling (petty cash/procurement).

  • Good understanding of patient care, psychosocial support, or community-based programmes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work with hospitals, NGOs, volunteers, and corporate partners.

  • Highly organised, empathetic, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a care-driven environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic reporting/documentation.

  • Willing to be based in Penang and travel when required.
