Job Summary
A Rigger is responsible for setting up, inspecting, and securing lifting equipment used to move heavy materials on construction or industrial sites. The role ensures all lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Attach loads to cranes or lifting equipment using chains, slings, shackles, or other rigging tools.
- Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Direct crane operators during lifting and positioning of loads.
- Ensure loads are properly balanced and secured before lifting.
- Follow safety procedures and lifting plans at all times.
- Communicate with crane operators and team members using hand signals or radios.
- Maintain and store rigging equipment properly after use.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment immediately.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM or equivalent.
- Valid Rigger certification (if required by company or authority).
- At least 1–2 years experience in rigging or construction work preferred.
- Good understanding of lifting equipment and safety procedures.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
