Job Summary
The Electrical Technician Intern will support the Facilities Engineering and Operations team in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient building electrical systems within an electronics manufacturing environment. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to facilities operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering support for critical utility and building systems.
This role provides practical experience in electrical facilities management, including power distribution, building systems monitoring, maintenance coordination, and operational support for manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Facilities Engineering team in daily operation and maintenance activities for building electrical systems.
Assist in monitoring Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems and building power distribution equipment.
Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities for electrical equipment and facilities systems.
Support troubleshooting activities for electrical-related issues and assist engineers in identifying root causes.
Assist in monitoring system performance and equipment operational status.
Support routine inspection and maintenance activities for: LV switchboards and electrical panels
UPS systems
Generator systems
Emergency lighting systems
Lighting and small power systems
Power monitoring systems
Assist in preparing maintenance reports, checklists, and engineering documentation.
Support contractor coordination and ensure maintenance activities comply with site safety requirements.
Participate in EHS activities, toolbox meetings, and safety compliance programs.
Coordinate with Mechanical, I&C, and Shift Operations teams during operational and maintenance activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facilities reliability and operational efficiency.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or engineering team.
Requirements
Currently pursuing Diploma in: Electrical Engineering
Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Power Engineering
Or related engineering field
Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and building electrical systems.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced manufacturing or facilities environment.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Able to support on-site operational activities.
Preferred Skills
Basic understanding of: LV electrical systems
Power distribution systems
Electrical safety practices
Preventive maintenance activities
Exposure to industrial or facilities environment is an added advantage.
Strong learning attitude, teamwork mindset, and problem-solving skills.
