Data Centre Project & Operations Coordinator
Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia
Employment: 12-Month Renewable Contract
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
Salary: Up to RM10,000 (Depending on Experience)
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Data Centre Project & Operations Coordinator to support the successful delivery and day-to-day operations of a hyperscale data centre environment.
This role will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle—from construction and infrastructure deployment, commissioning and go-live, to operational support and maintenance. You will work closely with project teams, engineers, vendors, contractors, and customers to ensure smooth execution and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Deployment
- Coordinate data centre infrastructure deployment activities from construction through commissioning and operational handover.
- Support project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and milestone management.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal engineering teams during project execution.
- Monitor project deliverables, identify risks, and follow up on outstanding action items.
- Support Testing & Commissioning (T&C), site acceptance, punch list closure, and operational readiness activities.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining project documentation including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, PTWs, checklists, and project reports.
Go-Live & Transition
- Coordinate the transition from project implementation to Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations.
- Ensure documentation, asset records, operational procedures, and support processes are completed before handover.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all operational requirements are met before go-live.
Operations & Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the data centre.
- Track incidents, service requests, change requests, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate vendor access, maintenance windows, and operational activities.
- Monitor operational KPIs, SLA performance, and follow up on issue resolution.
- Support asset lifecycle management, inventory control, capacity planning, and equipment decommissioning.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, security requirements, and customer expectations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–6 years of experience in Data Centre Operations, Infrastructure Projects, IT Project Coordination, Critical Facilities, or Mission Critical environments.
- Experience supporting data centre projects from construction, commissioning, deployment, go-live, and operational handover.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders including contractors, vendors, customers, consultants, and engineering teams.
