Compliance Support Engineer / Assistant Engineer

Job Description:

  • To support the Compliance Support Team in various tasks, which shall include in particular, but not by way of limitation, the following:

  • To ensure all PNE products are fully compliant with all market legislation.

  • To identify worldwide technical standards and legislation requirements pertaining to banned & restricted substances and material compliance e.g. ROHS, REACH, Halogen Free, California Proposition 65, PFAS, Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), Conflict Minerals, etc.

  • To execute implementation of banned substances system to detect & manage banned & restricted substances presence in PNE product.

  • To manage all materials compliance data and declarations and changes in global legislation and standards.

  • To develop & introduce process to ensure 100% coverage of parts with banned & restricted substances declarations (form or website such as BOMcheck, chemSHERPA, etc) & supporting documents.

  • Responsible in scrap and scheduled waste disposal activity.

  • Responsible as Environmental Management Representative (EMR). The main responsibility is  to ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 14001 standards. Act as the primary liaison between senior management and operational staff, reporting on performance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements, waste management, and sustainability goals.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Candidates with more than 2 year(s) of working experience with chemical background. Candidates without or with lesser experience are still encouraged to apply.

  • Adequate level of awareness in Banned & Restricted Legislation such as ROHS, REACH, Halogen Free, California Proposition 65, PFAS, Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) or equivalent. Knowledge in chemical/material laboratory testing and equipment (such as XRF) will be an added advantage.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent ability to understand and formally discuss contents of high Volumes of international standards.

  • Highly motivated, internally driven individual with good communication skills, good planning and organizing capabilities and able to work within a team.

  • Self driven with strong attention to details and must possess character of high integrity.

  • Able to work independently without supervision. Previous team management skill is not compulsory but will be an advantage.

  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizens and must willing to work in Tebrau, Johor.

  • Possess excellent communication skills in English and computer literate with good understanding in Microsoft Office and LibreOffice.

  • Certified to CePSWaM and RPO/RPS are will be an advantage.
