We’re looking for hands-on Freelance Engineers to support comms room and data centre installations In Mumbai

This is a field-based role—ideal for engineers who enjoy working onsite, inside racks, and getting infrastructure live.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Rack & stack installation of network and IT equipment
• Installation and setup of UPS systems and rack PDUs
• Power cabling and dual-feed setup
• Structured cabling (Cat6 & Fiber), patching, and cable dressing
• Installation of environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, etc.)
• Providing console / OOB access for remote engineers
• Supporting network device installs (routers, switches, firewalls, APs)
• Working in data centres, MDFs, and IDF environments

What We’re Looking For

• Proven hands-on experience in comms rooms or data centres
• Strong experience with rack & stack, cabling, and power setup
• Familiarity with UPS, PDUs, and basic power distribution
• Experience supporting remote engineers via console access
• Ability to work independently onsite and follow detailed instructions
• Professional, reliable, and comfortable in SLA-driven environments

• Nice to HaveBasic networking knowledge (e.g. CCNA / Network+)
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar vendors
• Previous Smart Hands / Field Engineer experience
