Position Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the delivery, operation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure for data center and enterprise projects across Malaysia and the region.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and customers to ensure electrical systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
This role offers excellent exposure to mission-critical facilities, regional infrastructure projects, and the rapidly growing data center industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
- Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain and monitor UPS systems, generators, switchboards, transformers, PDUs, and power distribution systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Assist with project planning, site surveys, installation activities, and project execution.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and customers throughout project delivery.
- Support infrastructure deployment, equipment installation, rack power provisioning, and electrical integration works.
- Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, commissioning documentation, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian electrical regulations, industry standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Support data center operations, critical facility maintenance, and emergency response activities when required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical assets, and change management documentation.
- Travel to customer sites within Malaysia and occasionally across the region as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, facilities management, critical infrastructure, or data center environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, UPS, generators, transformers, switchboards, PDUs, and power distribution.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Familiarity with Malaysian electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.
- Willing to travel to project sites when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data centers, mission-critical facilities, or enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar engineering software.
- Chargeman certification is an advantage.
- Experience with ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, Building Management Systems (BMS), or Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS).
- Familiarity with DCIM, BMS, or environmental monitoring platforms is an added advantage.
