The Site Engineer (Infrastructure) is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all construction activities on-site to ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, contract specifications, project schedule, budget, and applicable quality and safety standards. The role covers infrastructure projects, including Flood Mitigation (RTB) and 2-Lane Road Construction.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management

• Supervise and monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site personnel.
• Ensure project progress is achieved according to the approved construction schedule.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction.
• Monitor manpower, machinery, and material utilization to optimize project efficiency.

Flood Mitigation Works

• Supervise construction of drainage systems, culverts, box culverts, retaining walls, flood control structures, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor earthworks, excavation, backfilling, and slope protection works.
• Ensure drainage and flood mitigation works comply with JPS specifications and engineering standards.
• Supervise installation of geotextiles, riprap, erosion control measures, and river protection works where applicable.

Road Construction Works

• Supervise earthworks, subgrade, subbase, road base, pavement, and asphalt works.
• Ensure all road construction activities comply with JKR Standard Specifications.
• Monitor construction of road shoulders, road markings, traffic signs, guardrails, culverts, and other road furniture.
• Coordinate field and laboratory testing, including compaction tests, CBR tests, asphalt density tests, and material quality inspections.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

• Ensure all construction works meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate site inspections and Inspection Requests (IR).
• Monitor corrective actions and rectification works for non-conformance.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory regulations.
• Promote a safe working environment and enforce site safety procedures.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site inspections.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses when required.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate site diaries and construction records.
• Record work progress through photographs and documentation.
• Assist in preparing work done claims, progress claims, and project documentation.
• Maintain records of inspections, material approvals, and testing results.

Coordination & Communication

• Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with Public Works Department (JKR), Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS), clients, consultants, utility providers, subcontractors, and other relevant authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend site meetings, technical meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with JKR, JPS, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all construction works comply with the requirements, standards, specifications, and directives issued by JKR, JPS, and other relevant authorities.
• Coordinate site inspections, testing, approvals, and handover activities with JKR, JPS, consultants, and clients.
• Assist in preparing and submitting technical documents, reports, work progress updates, and other project documentation required by JKR, JPS, and relevant authorities.
• Promptly address technical issues, comments, and non-conformance matters raised by JKR, JPS, consultants, or clients to ensure smooth project execution.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM3,600.00 per month
