Job Scope:
The Test Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and supporting manufacturing test equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This role performs electrical, mechanical, hardware, and software diagnostics on test systems, identifies root causes of equipment failures, and implements corrective actions to minimize downtime. The Test Technician works closely with Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production teams, and Equipment Vendors to ensure test equipment reliability, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Product Test, Qualification & Failure Analysis
- Perform product testing, qualification, and failure analysis to support new product introductions, engineering evaluations, and customer requirements.
- Execute engineering qualification plans including RMA investigations, assembly qualifications, production sampling, and product validation activities.
- Support system-level debugging using diagnostic software, bus analyzers, and engineering test tools.
- Build, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot engineering test fixtures and qualification setups.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate issues, identify root causes, and drive timely issue closure.
Process & Technical Support
- Provide technical support for product, system, and equipment-related issues through troubleshooting and failure analysis activities.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with operational and qualification requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, process efficiency, and product quality.
- Utilize engineering software applications, databases, and laboratory tools to support daily operations and data analysis.
Engineering Documentation & Customer Support
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and engineering activities.
- Provide effective verbal and written shift pass-downs to ensure continuity of operations and issue tracking.
- Communicate qualification results, technical findings, and status updates to engineers, customers, and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with qualification requestors, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Support engineering projects and provide required reports, records and documentation.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Adhere to all EHS, quality and operational procedures while performing daily activities.
- Identify, escalate, and report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Follow all safety requirements including PPE usage, energy isolation (LOTO), ergonomic practices, and chemical handling procedures.
- Operate equipment and tools in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Support laboratory operational excellence through process standardization and best practice implementation.
- Participate in problem-solving, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, process capability, safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization
Job Requirements:
Education
- Diploma- Electronics Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Technology/ Or a related technical discipline
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production test, equipment maintenance, or related technical environments.
- Experience supporting automated test equipment (ATE) is preferred.
- Experience in electronics, semiconductor, HDD, SSD, or data storage manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English
- Willing to work shift (7am -7pm and 7pm-7am)
Pay: From RM2,300.00 per month
