Position Title: Project Engineer
Department: Project / Commercial
Reporting To: Project Manager / General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Johor Bahru (Adda Heights) / Project Sites
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating HDD and Open Cut project activities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to approved schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Attend project meetings and follow up on action items and project deliverables.
2. Site Management & Execution
- Supervise and monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Monitor manpower, materials, machinery, and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved within the agreed timeline.
- Identify and resolve site issues to minimize delays and disruptions.
3. Technical Support & Problem Solving
- Review engineering drawings, method statements, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site teams.
- Coordinate engineering solutions for construction and operational challenges.
- Assist in reviewing and implementing design changes where required.
4. Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Track project schedules, work completion status, and resource utilization.
- Maintain project records, correspondence, and technical documentation.
- Assist in monitoring project costs, progress claims, and variation works.
5. Quality Assurance
- Ensure all works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate with QA/QC personnel.
- Assist in preparing Inspection Requests (IR), testing records, and quality reports.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for any quality-related issues.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and site regulations.
- Monitor site safety practices and participate in safety inspections.
- Report incidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Support toolbox meetings and safety awareness initiatives.
7. Project Close-Out
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project completion documentation.
- Coordinate final inspections, testing, and project handover activities.
- Ensure all project records and documentation are properly compiled and submitted.
8. Ad-Hoc Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management or immediate superior from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in HDD, Open Cut, underground utilities, infrastructure, or construction projects is an added advantage.
- Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
- Possess strong communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
