POSITION SUMMARY
To perform accounting and financial reporting functions for the assigned companies, including the preparation of full set of accounts, monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, tax computations, budgets and forecasts. The role supports the timely financial closing process, statutory compliance and audit requirements while ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain a full set of accounts for the assigned companies, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of accounting records.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities, including the preparation of journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances and transactions, to ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare Group reporting schedules, consolidation templates and supporting information for Group consolidation reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents, and coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders during the audit process.
- Ensure compliance with the Group's accounting policies, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), statutory requirements and internal control procedures.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and funding requirements of the assigned companies.
- Process payments, fund transfers and other banking transactions accurately and on a timely basis.
- Prepare cash flow reports and assist in cash flow forecasting.
- Liaise with banks on operational matters, including bank account opening, maintenance of banking facilities and related documentation.
Taxation and Compliance
- Prepare corporate tax computations and coordinate with tax agents by providing the necessary information and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax, withholding tax, Sales and Service Tax (SST), e-Invoicing and other statutory tax requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of tax-related returns and statutory information in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
Budgeting and Financial Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare budget variance analysis and provide explanations for significant variances.
- Prepare financial analysis and management reports to support business planning and decision-making.
Documentation and Record Management
- Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date accounting records, financial documentation and supporting schedules for audit, statutory and regulatory purposes.
- Liaise with the company secretary and relevant regulatory authorities on statutory filings and finance-related documentation, where required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA or equivalent), or finalist, will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 – 4 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining a full set accounts, monthly financial closing and management reporting.
- Exposure to preparation of statutory financial statements and statutory audits.
- Exposure to corporate tax compliance, budgeting and financial forecasting and cashflow management will be an added advantage.
- Experience in using accounting software (e.g. AutoCount) and Microsoft Excel.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Basic understanding of the Companies Act 2016, corporate tax and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet reporting deadlines.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
