Interior Designer

Diagnosis Design & Construction is looking for an experienced, creative and technically competent Interior Designer to join our Design & Construction team.

We are looking for someone who has actual working experience in the interior design industry and is capable of handling projects beyond just 3D visualisation. The candidate should have a good understanding of design development, technical drawings, materials, construction details and site implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle interior design projects from concept development through design implementation and site completion.
• Develop design concepts, space planning, furniture layouts, mood boards, material selections and colour schemes.
• Produce high-quality 3D modelling and realistic interior renderings for client presentations.
• Prepare complete 2D drawings, construction drawings, detailed drawings, elevations, sections and joinery details.
• Review and coordinate design drawings before issuing them for construction.
• Select and propose suitable materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, sanitary fittings and interior products.
• Attend client meetings, understand client requirements and professionally present design proposals.
• Coordinate closely with Project, Site, M&E, Carpentry, Contractors and Suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site measurements, site inspections and regular site coordination when required.
• Identify and resolve design-related or construction-related issues during project implementation.
• Ensure completed works comply with approved drawings, specifications and overall design intent.
• Manage design revisions and multiple project deadlines effectively.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and follow through from design stage until completion.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience in Interior Design / Interior Architecture.
• Candidates with experience in residential, bungalow, high-end residential or commercial interior projects will be preferred.
• Strong understanding of space planning, materials, construction details and interior fit-out works.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Proficient in rendering software such as Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion or equivalent.
• Able to prepare and understand technical and construction drawings independently.
• Possess practical knowledge of site construction and able to communicate effectively with contractors and site teams.
• Good design sense, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently, take responsibility and manage assigned projects with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and client presentation skills.
• Able to work under project timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Candidate

We are looking for a designer who is not only strong in design and visual presentation, but also understands how the design is actually constructed on site.

The ideal candidate should be able to independently develop a design, prepare the necessary drawings, coordinate with the construction team and follow the project through to completion.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
