Responsibilities
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) manages all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. They ensure that building and civil engineering projects are completed within budget, meet legal requirements, and provide maximum value for the client's investment.
Key Responsibilities
1) Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs from blueprints and project drawings.
2) Tendering & Procurement: Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ), assemble tender documents, and evaluate contractor bids.
3) Contract Administration: Negotiate terms, manage subcontractor agreements, and value completed work for interim payments.
4) Cost Control & Variation Management: Track project expenses, assess design changes, and adjust budget projections accordingly.
5) Risk & Dispute Resolution: Identify commercial risks and help resolve contractual claims or disputes.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a closely related field. Local registration (such as with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia
Pay: RM2,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
