Site Engineer

We are seeking a highly driven, hands-on, and site-based Site Engineer to spearhead our construction operations directly on-site in Johor. In this critical, site-centered management role, you will be the driving force on the ground, responsible for managing the day-to-day physical execution of our developments from earthworks to final handover. You will spend your time where the action happens—leading site supervisors, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating main contractors, and solving complex technical structural or infrastructure issues in real-time. Job Description:

1. Technical Execution

Interpret blueprints (architectural, structural, MEP) and conduct site surveying to establish accurate layouts. Manage complex construction tasks, resolve design clashes early, and ensure crews use only the latest approved drawings.

2. Quality Control (QA/QC)

Conduct regular inspections of workmanship, formwork, and reinforcement. Inspect incoming materials, oversee compliance testing (e.g., concrete slump/cube tests), and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to fix defects promptly.

3. Resource and Schedule Management

Coordinate the timely delivery of materials (steel, cement) and heavy machinery while minimizing waste. Track progress against the master schedule, manage labor allocation, and create recovery plans for any delays.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily site logs (weather, manpower, material usage) and submit regular progress updates to the Project Manager. Handle Requests for Information (RFIs) and assist with as-built drawings and final handover files.

5. Safety & Compliance

Enforce site safety rules and full compliance with local building codes and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of active, hands-on site experience within the building construction, civil works, or infrastructure sector. Proven track record of managing daily ground operations, supervising main contractors and specialized trades, and successfully delivering project milestones under tight schedules.

Good-to-Have:

• Specific experience supervising earthworks, infrastructure works, and structural phases for large-scale landed residential housing or township master plans.
• Professional site safety certifications (e.g., NIOSH, CIDB Green Card, OSH background) are highly advantageous.
• Established local contacts with reliable sub-contractors, machinery suppliers, and site materials providers.
